Have you ever wonder why some things seem right and others seem wrong? Through the years I have watched Soul and Maka have their ups and downs. As of late they've been arguing more often and this party was no different. Maka was trying to get Soul to play and as usual he refused. I swirl the wine in my glass and look back over at the two. They were still fighting.

"Hey Kid, aren't you gonna drink that?"

I look over to see Patty and Liz. "No, you want it Patty?"

"Sure." She took the glass from me and drink it like she hasn't had anything the whole day.

"Kid why don't you just talk to Soul. There's no secret you have feelings for him."

"Liz I can't...besides, even if I wanted to he's with Maka."

"Of course you can Kid. You just need ask him."

I look over at Soul and Maka who were now dancing together. I decide to walk over to them.     

"Will you marry me Soul?"

"I will...Kid?"

"Hey Soul."

"Um, hold that thought, Maka."

Soul leads me over to another room.

"Kid I need some advice."

"Some advice on what?"

He looks around a few times before continuing. "Maka asked me to marry her."

I stare at him in completely shocked. "She did?"

"Yeah."

"...And you didn't answer her?"

"No, I couldn't."

I look at him still in shock. "Why not? You like her don't you?"

He sighs and then runs his hands through his hair. "I do like her...maybe even love her but only as weapon and meister. I can't see myself as a partner partner to her."

I put my hand on his shoulder. "Sounds like you already knew the answer, Soul."

"Yeah but that isn't the reason I didn't answer her."

I look at him again. Surprise replaced the shocked look I had just moments ago. "What do you mean Soul?"

He smiled at me. "I have feelings for someone else."

"Who?"

Before he could answer me Maka stepped into the room.

"There you are, Soul."

"Hey Maka."

"Oh, hi Kid."

She turns her attention back to her weapon. "Soul what is taking you so long?"

"Uh, I was just talking to Kid, Maka. I didn't know I had a time limit." The weapon rolled his eyes at his meister which earned him a Maka Chop.

I watched as Maka dragged Soul by his collar. They started arguing which  quickly scaled up to a fight. I couldn't stand watching those two anymore I had to get them to stop.

I ran over to stop Maka from knocking Soul in the head with yet another book.

"Maka stop!" I grab her arm before she hits him.

"Kid?"

She looks at me shocked. Why is she shocked by me helping Soul?

"Maka don't hit Soul again."

"Kid, you're hurting my arm."

I let go of her arm and notice the bright red mark my grip left behind. The shock of what I have done caused me to just take off running. I blocked out the voices that tried to get me to stop. I ran and ran until couldn't go any farther. I was deep into the desert and it was in the middle of the afternoon. The hottest part of the day. This would be a problem for a human but I'm a Shinigami so, I didn't have to worry. The weather however, was the least of my problems. I was so focused on getting out of there that I failed to notice how far out I ran. I was in witch territory and without Liz and Patty I would be helpless if I ran into one.
