Nightmares
Day 11

It was ten at night and Soul was awaken by the body next to thrashing about. Soul gently pulled the sheets down to reveal a sweaty Death The Kid. Soul nudged the reaper as gently as possible to avoid scaring him. Kid snapped his eyes open and his breathing was fast. Soul wrapped his arms around his lover to calm him.

"Shhhh, it's alright Kid I'm here."

Kid have had the same nightmare every night since returning from a mission. It was suppose to a simple but it turned out to be anything but simple. Soul didn't know everything that happened but he knew enough to understand why this mission plagued Kid's mind.

Once Kid and his weapons Liz and Patty got to their location Kid knew things weren't gonna be easy(what mission ever was?) As the search started Kid couldn't shake the bad feeling he felt before they even landed. It wasn't long before they ran into the human that was on the road of becoming a Kinshin. Kid was ready to fight but when he took at his target he froze. Everything right down to the shoes were perfectly symmetrical and in Kid's mind too beautiful to attack. Kid was getting his ass kicked by a person he could have finished off with one well aimed shot. Liz and Patty had to return to human form to protect their meister. In the end they did defeat the human but Liz was badly hurt and out cold. Patty wasn't much better but was  strong enough to help Kid to his feet so, they could return to Death City. While they waited at the hospital there were a couple of close calls for Liz. Luckily she made it her first night and was on the road to recovery but the damage was done. Kid almost lost one of his partners and Patty's big sister because of symmetry.

Now Soul was stuck comforting his lover but not knowing how to help him. He felt helpless but he knew Kid felt worse. Soul listened as his lover cried and blamed himself. Soul rubbed Kid's back gently and told him it wasn't his fault. Just like he always did.

As time when on the nightmares lessen and soon Kid slept through the night once again but Soul knew Kid still and would never stop blaming himself.
