Even Guardians Need a Guardian

Chapter One: Too Much of a Good Thing

Jack Frost was perched atop of a street lamp which was across from the park. He was watching a group of kids who were playing in the snow he had created in the morning. Even though it was only four o'clock the sun had taken an early departure for the day and the moon proudly took it's place in the sky.  Jack knew that the kids would be called back to the warmth of their respective homes so, he willed the wind to take him to a tree branch where he could get a better look at the group.  Standing on tiptoe, Jack crept out to the edge of the branch and continued to watch the kids play. One by one kids started to get called in so Jack felt it was time for him to go but before he could even get a foot off the tree, something catches his eye. Leaning forward slightly, he could make out two figures playing with their friends. Curiosity got the better of him and he willed the wind once again to take him another street lamp. To his surprise the group was made up of older teenagers and young adults.

Jack cocked his head. Shouldn't they be inside doing housework or maybe getting ready for night time jobs? Jack thought to himself.

One of the girls happened to look in his direction. "Hey, look! It's Jack Frost!"

"You can see me?"

"We can all see you!" The girls started talking excitedly to themselves.

It had been three years since Jack helped the other guardians rid the world of Pitch and forced him to go back to the shadows of which he came. Since then Jack had believers all over the world but most were children.

Jack rubbed the back of his neck unsure how to react to the older believers in front of him. Most of the girls were text-ing while others were taking pictures of Jack.

Jack curiously peaked over one of the girls' shoulder.

"Watcha doing?"

"Telling my friend you're here."

"Oh, cool." Jack said sounding still unsure how those devices work.

Faint but audible voices can be heard and they were getting louder. Jack turned around and looked in the direction the voices were coming from.

Jack got wide-eyed. "Whoa, that's a lot of friends you have."

The girl giggles.  "They're not all my friends, Jack. All of them are your fans though."

"My fans?" Jack asks nervously.

I am looking out the window and watching the strange scene unfold.  "Hey Ariel, come check this out!"

She raises an eyebrow at me. "What could possibly be more interesting than "Rise Of The Guardians and Jack Frost?"

"How about the real thing?" I say pointing out the window.

"Sarah, I love the movie too but-"

I cut her off. "Seriously, Jack is outside right now! Just take a look."

She pauses the movie and joins me at the window. There he was perched on a street lamp looking like a deer in headlights. The one and only Jack Frost was right outside just a few feet away. We were both overwhelmed by a bad case of being starstruck.

Ariel slides back down to a sitting position.  "Oh. My. God. It's really him...Jack Frost is real and he's outside.  What should we do?"

"Well first, we save him then we...ask him to hang out with us?"

She nods. "Sounds good to me."  Then she looks at me, "How do you propose we help him from his fans?"

I think for a few seconds, "Uh...we...HIDE HIM!"

Ariel raises an eyebrow, "You're great idea is to hide him? Did you even SEE how many fans that are out there? This is not gonna-"

I cut her off, "And that's why we need to go now."

We head outside and continue to develop a plan as we get closer to where Jack is.

"Hey Jack, over here!" I waved my arms in the air to make sure he notices me.

He snaps his head towards Ariel and I. "Oh great, not more fans. Look, I don't have time to deal with you girls, I really need to get out of here as soon as possible."

"We can help you with that."

Jack raises an eyebrow, "Oh yeah?" he jumps off the lamp and lands in front of us. "How?"

I look at Ariel then back at Jack. "We're gonna hide you."

He looks at the horde of fans then back at us. He bites his lower lip to hold back a laugh. "You two save me? Don't make me laugh."

I cross my arms. "Fine, if you don't want our help than you figure something out."

Jack looks at me annoyed and shoots a "frostbite" blast at me. "Some fans you are."

I'm shaking furiously from the cold. "W-What w-was that f-for?!"

Ariel's eyes widened with shock, "Jaaaack, was that really necessary?"

He simply shrugs. "You'll be up next if you do anything funny."

"I'll pass. Watch out though, the fangirls are getting ahead of the fanboys and they look like they're getting antsy."

"GET HIM!", the fans start to run towards us.

Jack gets wide-eyed and looks over to us. "Help!"

I glare at Jack, "After freezing me out? You can forget about getting help from us."

He rolls his eyes. "As I said before, some fans you are.  What was the point of coming out here if you didn't plan on helping?!" He growls and then slams his staff into the ground, sending a blast of cold air at us.

He starts to hover a few feet above us and then he starts to swirl his staff, causing the wind to pick up. Soon a tornado of freezing cold air forms in front of him.

"Wow, that's one ticked off winter spirit." I glance over at Ariel. "Do you think he'll seriously let loose that tornado on his fans?"

"I don't know but I'm not gonna wait and find out." She calls out to Jack. "Jack, calm down please!  We promise we will help you.." she looks at me, "Right?"

Jack stops twirling his staff but stays in the air.  Upon doing this a group of fans have been scared off but some brave and determined souls still remain.

"You do?"

I nod in agreement with Ariel. "Yes, we promise."

Jack lands in front of us. "Okay, I'll trust you two but if you two try to do something I don't like, both of you become frozen popsicles. Got it?"

Ariel and I nod our heads. "Crystal clear Jack, you don't need to worry about us."

I take off into the forest.  "Okay, follow me."

The three of us disappear into the forest leaving the fans utterly confused and disappointed.
I'll fill this in later.
